Best Week Ever!

The closest to normal since all this began. Oh my goodness! I generally expect to feel good on Tuesdays when they load me up with fluids and steroids. And this week was no exception. But it kept getting better! Yes, I still get tired and need naps. Yes, I still need to sit down more frequently. But I feel good! Acupuncture on Friday was a great session. I’m starting to have some neuropathy, mostly in my feet, and Angie worked on that as well as getting my blood flow going. Something seems to be happening because my perennially cold feet are not nearly so bad. And I cooked this week a couple of times and I am very conscious of eating well. I put on a little weight and that’s good. This is no time for me to be worrying about weight gain. I eat, I stay strong. This weekend was wonderful. Yesterday, Jerry and I walked over to Blue Moon Cafe for lunch. I did get a little winded, and on the way back I had to sit down for a minute, but it was a beautiful day and I was so glad to be out in the sunshine. Today was a double header. There was a BARCS fundraiser at Second Chance and I knew I wanted to be there. I put on nice clothes and for the first time in a long time, wore makeup. I wanted to look as good as I felt! A little blush and eyebrow pencil go a long way! After the BARCS fundraiser we headed to Elizabeth and Gene’s for a gathering. A number of friends were there and I think there was a sense of relief that I look pretty good! It was great to talk to people and be social. Next week is another light chemo week and I am excited at the prospect of my physical and mental well being continuing at this wonderful pace. It’s weeks like these that make me remember that I am strong and optimistic, and one of these days this whole episode will be a memory.
